-At the height of the dark season, when Weles reigns supreme, the guardian of Nav and its secrets is honored from February 2nd until the middle of the month. We sing praises to him and we light candles in his name. We thank him for half of the past dark season and ask him to stay with us until the end of it as well as in the light season.
-After offering milk, incense and other sacrifices we remember the essential role that Weles plays in this period but also Marzanna with whom he walks side by side.
-Then came the time of Gromnica, in its authentic form, that is to say indigenous Slavic and not christian. Gromnica marks the middle of winter, the first encounter with lightning is sometimes already heard, Perun makes it known that he will soon return. A candle for the coming year is consecrated. In case of illness or bad events in life it will be necessary to light it to protect ourself. It is one of the magical moments of the dark season.
-Thanks to Weles on this sacred day because he is the father of wild, untamed nature, oaths, musicians, animals, wealth and success, and the guardian of the gates of Nav where the souls of our Ancestors stay! The water from different sources are curative and they bless in this period. We sprinkle with people, livestock and domestic animals!
