Kupala 2026 (2)

-Kupala: A ritual to honor the beauty and goodness of celestial light during this sacred time of the Solstice.

-Kupala is an ancient Slavic midsummer celebration, traditionally associated with the Summer Solstice.
It marks the height of the Sun’s power, when daylight reaches its greatest strength and nature is at its fullest.

-The celebration brings together the sacred forces of fire, water, earth and sky.
-Bonfires are lit to honor the light and to symbolize purification, protection and renewal. People gather around the flames to sing, dance and celebrate the abundance of life.
-Water represents cleansing and transformation, while rivers and lakes become places of ritual and mystery.

-Unfortunatly we bid farewell to Jarilo and Dziewanna, the divine couple who reign during the eight of the bright season.

-Flowers and sacred herbs are gathered and woven into wreaths, symbols of life, beauty and the cycles of nature.
-Wreaths may be placed upon the water, carried away by the current as offerings or as signs of fate and love. The night itself becomes a threshold between the visible and invisible worlds.

-According to folklore, the legendary flower of the fern may reveal itself during this magical night. Kupala is ultimately a celebration of light, nature, fertility, love and renewal.
-The Solstice is also a turning point: from this moment, the days slowly begin to shorten. Thus, within the celebration of light lies the eternal rhythm of light and darkness, growth and decline, death and rebirth.
-Kupala 2026 celebrates this sacred turning of the year and our ancient connection to the living world.
